SYGW Joins the University District Service Providers Alliance

This June SYGW was proud to be voted into the University District Service Providers Alliance (UDSPA), a coalition of nonprofit organizations in Seattle's University District that works together to create a comprehensive continuum of care for homeless and street-involved youth and young adults. While some of the member agencies focus on basic needs, such as meals, shelter and hygiene resources, other programs, like SYGW, provide transitional or support services, such as art therapy, mental health and chemical dependency counseling and educational and employment resources.

Our unique program of garden-based education and employment complements the services provided by other UDSPA members and gives homeless and underserved youth a valuable alternative when they begin seeking support services. Our involvement with UDSPA also reconfirms our commitment to serving youth in the University District and gives us an opportunity to engage more actively with the neighborhood.
